Isaiah 43:1,2,3 God knows my name.
They that WAIT
Most people don’t like to wait. Today our world runs on instant gratification; things are much faster than they used to be. Do I expect that in spiritual ways? The Bible says to wait on God. Patience is still a virtue I need to practice.
Lamentations 3:24,25,26 To stay in a place until the expected occurs and to wait quietly or to be still.
Exodus 14:8,9,10,11,12,13,14 The Israelites were trapped in an impossible situation, between the mountains, the army and the sea. This was a scary time. The feeling of being trapped triggers an instinct to run or fight. Our instinct is not to wait or be still.
Stand, be still, and wait with anticipation. Ask God to stop the fighting and turmoil in my mind.
Exodus 14:30,31 Sometimes I don’t know what God has done for me until I see the aftermath.
The waiting period can be long, uncomfortable, and discouraging. The enemy sees the waiting and waits with me, suggesting reasons why I have to wait. How long are you going to wait? Why don’t you give God a time limit? Do you really believe he will deliver this time? He suggests I am the only one waiting for God or feeling trapped.
I am human and I have to deal with discouragement, stress, sadness, and anxiety. God still wants me to wait.
Luke 10:38,39,40,41 Martha showed her love by serving Jesus. He said that by being still and waiting, you are still serving. What do I do during the waiting? Do I passively sit still? I can continue to worship and pray while I wait.
Isaiah 40:28,28,30,31 The Isrealites waited with confident expectation for deliverance. Strength will be renewed and will be built up as I wait.
