Checking Inventory
Checking inventory is about seeing how much I have, what I need, and if there is anything I need to get rid of.
2 Peter 1:5,6,7,8,9,10 Besides the basics of what I have (salvation), do I have faith on my inventory shelf? Do I have virtue, knowledge, temperance, and patience with myself and others? Do I know where these things are on my shelf? If I have lots of these (abound), I won’t run out.
I may have enough for now. What am I getting short on? God’s grace is new every morning, but I have to take responsibility for my salvation. If I am lacking it will be difficult to keep stocked.
1 Peter 3:15 Be prepared.
1 Peter 5:8 You can’t go into a battle empty-handed. Be prepared to defeat the enemy.
The purpose of my inventory is to be prepared. Prayer before important events and decisions is checking inventory.

Sometimes things can turn old or rotten on the shelf. Something may have been good at one time – such as humility that grew mold and rotted into pride.
Inventory takes work and preparation. Things that are past their “use by” date will not do any good. The clean out may be messy, but things feel much better once it’s cleaned.
How am I handling my daily difficult situations? This may be evidence of empty shelves or shelves with not useful inventory.

Old inventory and bad food eventually affects the rest of the good inventory. Rot always starts as a small soft spot. There’s no getting better - these things must be removed.
If I was saved from bitterness years ago but now am starting to be bitter, I have forgotten what I was saved from.
Joel 2:18,19,21,25,26,27 I have to go to the storehouse to replenish. Why do I have a full pantry? To show God’s kindness and love to others.
