Why did Jesus Come?
In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve had a choice and sinned against God; they committed the first sin.
Romans 5:12
God changed his mind about (repented) his creation of man. In many cases, there was one individual that stopped God from destroying a people (e.g., Noah, Jonah, Esther).
As a human race, according to God, we have a big problem. People don’t follow God's commandments and He is inclined to destroy them. But God created man in his image; he is searching for people who are living in his image and will worship and glorify Him.
The system of solving sin for the year involved sacrifice, but it didn’t really take care of the sin problem.
Galatians 4:4,5,6,7
Matthew 1:21 Jesus came to save his people from their sins.
Matthew 5:17 Jesus came to fulfill the Law. How do I fulfill God's law? Live like the example Jesus gave.
Jesus is a good summarizer. He took 613 laws and summarized the law into two categories: Love God. Love your neighbor.
Luke 4:18
How people know what is going to happen after death? I can be the one to tell them.
John 3:16-17 When God looked at His right hand and saw His son, maybe this was His last resort for the world. Perhaps this was the solution to save the world from God's destruction.
Jesus came to:
- Save people from sin.
- Fulfill the law.
- Proclaim the good news.
- Save the world.
