The God Above Gods

The God of creation is infinite and not knowable. He is high and magnificent, but also close and comforting. How does God reveal Himself through the Word? My notion of God needs to be what He reveals.

Psalm 1:2 This is a deep dive – my delight is in the Lord.

The Creator is God above gods. There are parts that I do not and will not ever know about. This creates humility in how I see myself and see God. Not even Moses was able to see God in His entirety.

1 Corinthians 13:12 Much is left to my own understanding and imagination in the present.

Genesis 1:26 If I am unhappy with how things are conducted, am I humble in my perspective? Allow the Creator to be above all.

Matthew 22:36,37,38,39,40 Love God with all. This allows me to love my neighbor as myself.

Micah 6:8 God's requirements are simple. Allow the mystery of the Creator. Don’t try to fill it with your own knowledge.

Job 38:1,2,3,4 Job was trying to understand God with his human intellect. There are things I don’t know with human knowledge and opinion.

Deuteronomy 5:7 All cannot be understood with human perception - emotionally and spiritually. Don’t lower His divinity.

When God is small and far away I tend to conduct myself as if he doesn’t see and know my life.

Some things I can grasp and others I cannot because God is infinite. When the mind and heart work together to comprehend God, He is known. Jesus is the way to know God personally.

Mark 9:24 Things that are a mystery can cause doubt. Faith elevates me to where God is. It resolves doubt. Human reasoning cannot be a substitute for faith.
