Carrying the Weight of the World

Am I carrying things I’m not meant to carry? Am I trying to keep up appearances that “God doesn't allow more than I can carry?”

Humanly, I'm not meant to carry it all. I need help from God.

Matthew 11:28,29,30 God calls to those that don’t have light lives, people that need rest. There is no rest in anxiety. Meekness is strength under control, characterized by humility, gentleness, teachableness, and patience. Jesus took His burden to His father. It was still His burden but He needed the help of God.

This exchange happens during prayer.

Am I careful with my thoughts? Are my thoughts in Christ and his easy yoke?

1 Peter 5:6,7,8 Humility comes before casting. I don’t have to appear strong before God or others. Casting my cares is resisting the devil. When I focus on the cares, I am not focusing on Christ. It takes work and practice. If I tell God what I need, the burden will lift.

When I am anxious and worried, I have tools to manage.

Psalms 55:22

Place reminders so you can see them often to help keep your mind on God. He is trustworthy.

Philippians 4:6,7

Luke 12:25,26,29,30,31 Carrying the weight of what I cannot change doesn’t help the situation. There are some things I am not meant to carry.

God has everything under control and will provide as a father. A parent doesn’t want a child to worry; God wants me to trust that He will provide and protect me. Show that trust and the goodness of God to others.
