The Garment of Praise for the Spirit of Heaviness
Psalm 27:1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14 What one thing have I desired of God? The Psalmist’s orientation is toward God.
Do I ask God every day to help me walk in the spirit? This will make it easier to respond to unexpected difficulties.
God comforts those that are forsaken or are suffering from attachment wounds.
Do I have a ready answer as a follower of Christ if someone were to ask why I am a Christian? A Christian acts out the Gospel.
Why did Jesus die for our sins? To reconcile God to His creation and restore that relationship.
Genesis 37:3,4,9,10,11 No matter what happens to me, God will take me up.
Genesis 37:18,19,20,21,22,23,24 Joseph had reason to be emotionally injured. If I seek after the beauty of God, He will hide me under His wings.
Genesis 45:1,2,3,4,5 Joseph had a choice whether or not to be bitter. In his prison cell, he may have had to confront feelings of justified bitterness. He chose to seek the beauty of God.
James 4:8
Isaiah 61:3 We all have seasons of life with heaviness. I can put on the garment of praise or the garment of heaviness.
