What should I expect from the atonement? Paul had a flesh and there was a thorn in it. But he reconciled living in the human existence while also being holy.
Chapters 6 and 7 are not about a cloak of righteousness over a sinful body of flesh. What is the spiritual condition after atonement? It isn’t wretched. There is a change.

What should I expect from my mind, will, and behavior after my conversion? The Spirit of God doesn’t eradicate the flesh. I retain my will and choice. I remain with it, but the Spirit of God dominates and governs the flesh.
