We all, at one time or another, face the battle of overcoming discouragement. In both our spiritual and physical walk here on earth, there will come situations and circumstances where the odds seem overwhelming and the mountain seems insurmountable. God makes handiwork of the improbable and specializes in the impossible. When discouragment besets on us every side, we need to look to rock that is higher than us as God knows how to deliver His people.

Since the very beginning of the creation of man, there has been only one constant that has withstood the test of time. In every age, every kingdom and even down to every decision or circumstance, the Promises of God have proven themselves to be a very present help in time of trouble.

The last two weeks Brother Rick requested we do our personal testimonies of what God has done for us individually. After thinking about it for some time I thought the best way to post this was to break it down into three main themes that were evident in the testimonies.

This week we focused on learning how to be content. Phillipians 4:11-19 teaches us that as we learn to be content, we will learn that God shall supply all of our needs.

The lesson today was on how to obtain and maintain lasting joy and happines. The only true way to get lasting and sincere happiness is to know Christ as your personal Savior.

We began this study with lessons from the Isrealites by starting with Gideon. We begin in Judges chapter 6. God comes to Gideon and begins his dialogue with him by encouraging him in his faith by addressing him "as a Mighty man of Valor". As we go through this chapter we see that God is going to use Gideon to deliver his people from the Midianites.

God had Providence over all things - Providence can be described as God omnisciently directing all the affairs in the universe while forseeing care and guidance over nature and all of Gods Creation. God miraculoulsy demonstrated this ability when he blessed the woman oil and meal when she baked a cake for the man of God in 1st Kings 17.

It is our Christian duty to support all members of the body of Christ

This week we studied about the duty of all Christians to support each other and walk in the Unity of the Spirit and bond of Peace.
