“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils.  Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron.” – 1st Timothy 4:1-2

How often do we get caught up in the things, the people, the places, the gossip or maybe our own lives? The bible says there are seducing spirits and that means everywhere we go which is to say that we have to gird our minds, strengthen our hearts and be prepared for anything.  Ask yourself the question:  Are you so distracted that you’ve forgotten God? Step back to examine your life: where are you?  It would be easy to say “God doesn’t expect me to do this…or I shouldn’t have to…”  But does he?

If you’ve been drawn away, or maybe you’re struggling then we need to go before God where we know our needs will be met!  If we don’t go before God then spiritually we will die.

“…I fear, lest by any means as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” – 2nd Corinthians 11:2

The Devil didn’t go to Eve and tell her she’d die spiritually though that was exactly what happened.  He told her some ‘truth’ by telling her that she would live.  In the flesh, Eve continued to live…but she was separated from God by her sin.  She died spiritually.

…The woman said unto the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.”  And the serpent said unto the woman “Ye shall not surely die!” – Genesis 3:2-4

Don’t let the Devil trick you in giving into the spirits of this world.  We must run the race and fight a good fight to obtain victory.

“For our light affliction which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.”  2 Corinthians 4:17
