It is seemingly easy to love and appreciate ourselves more than others might. Individuals in a right frame of mind generally treat their own selves with respect. This leads us to ask, "Am I capable of loving someone else as I love myself?" Or, "How is it possible that I treat another person with as much respect as myself, even though we share nothing in common?" Mark 12:31 CLEARLY commands that "...thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself...” and Jesus himself declares the magnitude of the commandment.
No single person can truly love Christ fully, while falling short to accept and love another human. Christ loved each of us unconditionally, and died for every man. Let it be our goal to love and accept EVERY person, even those who despite fully use us. In doing so, we will become more like Christ, who suffered to save the very people who didn’t believe in him.
