We can place our trust in God Print E-mail
Saturday, 17 January 2009 17:57
Trust is assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something. Is there anyone that you can have assured reliance in? Because of the condition of our world, it is hard to place our trust in anyone. But don’t loose faith; there is one that we can turn to. In 1 Timothy 2:5-6 it says, “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.” We can place our trust in God, he sent his son to die and save us from our sins. How can we not trust someone who loves us so much?

Promises to rest upon Print E-mail
Wednesday, 07 January 2009 17:41
Through out our lives we are faced with many circumstances; some that are easy to handle and others that seem impossible. When life brings us to our end and we have no person to call on, it is especially at this time that we rely on God to help us through. Even though it is often hard to have the faith that God will work out the situation for the good of all, we can rely on his promises. In Mark 9:23, we find that “Jesus [promised] unto [us], If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth”. And in Romans 8:28 we find that these things that are made possible through belief will work together for the good of all those that love God. (And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose)

"Where there is no vision, the people perish... Print E-mail

" Proverbs 29:18 "Where there is no vision, the people perish...

As we go into the New Year, reflecting on the past and making plans for the future, it is imperative to seek God's guidance. It is easy to make our own schedule getting caught up in the every day happenings of life; school, work, family and church business. While our attention in these areas is important we have to reflect on what God would have us do, taking into consideration the highlighted scripture, "where there is no vision, the people parish". In simple terms, when God’s people loose the vision of his church and a burden for expounding it, their soul will parish. We as God's people cannot go a day with out looking for his guidance.

If you're reading this,

To Be a Friend, "We Must Show Ourselves Friendly!" Print E-mail
Tuesday, 09 December 2008 21:57
"Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful" Proverbs 27:6

Friendship, true friendship fosters trust, allows room to work through difficult times and will be there for us in time of need.

Just as it is in our relationship with Jesus, we can trust him, we know he will be there for us, and he has proven time and again he will help us to work through the difficult times.

But the greatest of these is "charity." Print E-mail
Saturday, 29 November 2008 17:54

"And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity." 1 Corinthians 13: 13. The entirety of 1 Corinthians, Chapter 13 has to be the most important of all the attributes his saints possess. No matter what we do; if we prophesy, speak with the tongues of men and angels, have great understanding, give to poor, even sacrifice our very life, if we have not charity, it was all worth nothing. Love suffereth long, doesn't envy, thinketh not evil, behaves in a Godly manner. Charity "rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in truth; beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth."

Love Thy Neighbor as Thyself Print E-mail
Monday, 24 November 2008 17:19
It is seemingly easy to love and appreciate ourselves more than others might. Individuals in a right frame of mind generally treat their own selves with respect. This leads us to ask, "Am I capable of loving someone else as I love myself?" Or, "How is it possible that I treat another person with as much respect as myself, even though we share nothing in common?" Mark 12:31 CLEARLY commands that "...thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself...” and Jesus himself declares the magnitude of the commandment.

Don't Judge A Book By It's Cover Print E-mail

Don't Judge A Book By It's Cover

We have the habit of judging a person by the attire of the their clothes, their attitude, or their skin color when we first meet them. Then the next thought we think is if we want to talk and be friends with them. But is it wise to judge so quickly? I don't think we would want people to judge us for those things and then not make a friend because of something so silly.

Love is important Print E-mail
Saturday, 08 November 2008 20:54

We may not know how big an impact we make on other friends or love ones lives or just a random person we meet. Love is important to most people today and some one who doesn't feel loved might search for it in the wrong place, like gangs and other people that have a bad influence towards others. The lack of love results in
