Where are you going? Do you have your ticket? Is your suitcase packed? Are you ready to go?
Journey – a traveling from one place to another
We have all taken trips or journeys. We have all traveled from one place to another. Some of these trips have been for fun or vacation, some for business purposes and some trips for a funeral or to care for the ill.
Whatever the reason for the journey, there was a time of preparation. Planning the route, who’s watching the house, the dog and watering the plants, arranging for the mail and the newspaper, getting the ticket, and packing the suitcase.
Where are we going? There are only two destinations. There are only two routes. We have the choice of the destination of our journey.
Matthew 7:13-14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Do you have your ticket? There is only one door to the strait and narrow way. The admission price is repentance.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent:for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Act 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out,…
Is your suitcase packed? What does Jesus want us to take in the suitcase? We can’t take everything. Remember the loaded camel couldn’t go through the needle’s eye gate, Mark 10:25.
Psalms 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. Psalms 34:18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
Psalms 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
Psalms 24:3-5 Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, or sworn deceitfully. He shall receivethe blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
Ephesians 4:22-24, 28 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Let him that stole steal no more: … We need to take out things. We need to add things. Colossians 3:8-10, 12-15 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Are you ready to go? Do you know where you are going? Do you have your ticket? Is your suitcase packed? Isaac said in Genesis 27:2 And he said, Behold now, I am old, I know not the day of my death: Mark 13:31-37 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch
Matthew 24:42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
Matthew 24:44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

The Bible is a book of faith, and a book of doctrine, and a book of morals, and a book of religion, of especial revelation from God;but it is also a book which teaches man his own individual responsibility, his dignity, and his equality with his fellow-man.
