Walking in Grace
|
I have been looking at a few mountains in my life. I’m encouraged that I don’t have to face the mountains alone and that faith the size of a mustard seed is available.I wish I could hand each of you a mustard seed. God doesn’t expect a lot from us, He just expects enough. Luke 17:6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed,ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you. Refusing to Accept Failure Sir Edmund Hillary was the first man to climb Mount Everest.
On May 29, 1953 he scaled the highest mountain then known to man-29,000 feet straight up. He was knighted for his efforts. He even made American Express card commercials because of it! However, until we read his book, High Adventure, we don't understand that Hillary had to grow into this success. |

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. About Christ
When you are the neediest, He is the most sufficient. When you are completely helpless, He is the most helpful. When you feel totally dependent, He is absolutely dependable. When you are the weakest, He is the most able. When you are the most alone, He is intimately present. When you feel you are the least, He is the greatest. When you feel the most useless, He is preparing you. When it is the darkest, He is the only Light you need. When you feel the least secure, He is your Rock and Fortress. When you are the most humble, He is most gracious. When you can't, He can. Ephesians 3:20-21 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
Let us 'walk in grace' together. May we find 'joy for the journey and good times in the going.'

From Joy & Strength , Mary Wilder Tileson But we all, with open face, beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image fro glory to glory. 2 Corinthians 3:18 Nothing short of the Life of the Eternal Son of God—the Holiness, the Purity of God, is the standard at which we are to aim; that is to be reproduced in our circumstances; the Divine Perfections are to be translated , reproduced in our life, our home, our trials, our difficulties, our age of the world. Lest us ask ourselves, What is the special likeness of Christ that He would reproduce in me? What are the features of His Life that He calls me to imitate? What pattern would He set before me in my work, my circumstances, my difficulties? What are the inspirations of grace that He would urge me to cultivate and cherish? Arthur C. A. Hall In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, Titus 2:7
Let us walk in grace together. May we find 'joy in the journey and good times in the going.'

"You can conquer almost any fear if you will make up your mind to do so. For remember, fear doesn't exist anywhere except in the mind." -- Dale Carnegie 2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

A short time later I moved to Utah but I never forgot the story of this man, the boys and their bartering. Several years went by each more rapid than the previous one. Just recently I had occasion to visit some old friends in that Idaho community and while I was there learned that Brother Miller had died. They were having his viewing that evening and knowing my friends wanted to go, I agreed to accompany them. |

Red Marbles During the waning years of the depression in a small southeastern Idaho community, I used to stop by Brother Miller's roadside stand for farm-fresh produce as the season made it available. Food and money were still extremely scarce and bartering was used, extensively. One particular day Brother Miller was bagging some early potatoes for me. I noticed a small boy, delicate of bone and feature, ragged but clean, hungrily appraising a basket of freshly picked green peas. I paid for my potatoes but was also drawn to the display of fresh green peas. I am a pushover for creamed peas and new potatoes. Pondering the peas I couldn't help overhearing the conversation between Brother Miller and the ragged boy next to me. |

2 Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
Close To Him
God never would send you the darkness, If He felt you could bear the light; But you would not cling to His guiding hand If the way were always bright; And you would not care to walk by faith Could you always walk by sight. |

Do not think that love, in order to be genuine, has to be extraordinary. What we need is to love without getting tired. Mother Teresa
Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

John 1:1-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
May we ‘walk in grace’ together. Let us find ‘joy in the journey and good times in the going.’

Journey – a traveling from one place to another -- Webster’s New World Dictionary This World is Not My Home This world is not my home, I’m just a passing thru, My treasures are laid up, Somewhere beyond the blue; The angels beckon me from heaven’s open door, And I can’t feel at home in this world anymore. Chorus O Lord, you know I have no friend like you, If heaven’s not my home then Lord what will I do; The angels beckon me from heaven’s open door, And I can’t feel at home in this world anymore |

“Walking in Grace’s” main purpose is to encourage the hearts of men and women as they walk in God’s Truth by His Grace, His unmerited, undeserved favor.
“Walking in Grace” is a collection of thoughts and scriptures.
The scriptures come from the Bible. KJV Trust in the words of the Bible is absolute.
John 6:68-69 Then Simon Peter answered him,Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God. KJV
To receive a more complete understanding of God’s Word,at times another version maybe quoted, that version will be named.
John 6:68-69 Simon Peter answered,Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words (the message) of eternal life. And we have learned to believe and trust, and [more] we have come to know [surely] that You are the Holy One of God,the Christ (the Anointed One), the Son of the living God. The Amplified Bible
The thoughts come from a wide variety of sources, authors will be recognized whenever possible.
The Bible is a book of faith, and a book of doctrine, and a book of morals, and a book of religion, of especial revelation from God;but it is also a book which teaches man his own individual responsibility, his dignity, and his equality with his fellow-man.
* Daniel Webster, in an address on the completion of the Bunker Hill Monument, June 17, 1843
