"...With God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26
Abundanty...plentiful, overflowing. This is what Jesus offers us. Do you want to be rich some day? How do you plan to reach that goal? Will your wealth become your God or will you continue to serve Jesus? Do you believe being rich will make you happy?
There is a story of a King who sent his servant out to find the happiest man on earth and told that servant that when he found him he was to bring back all of that mans possessions. But when the servant returned he had nothing in his hands. He told the king that the happiest man on earth didn't have any possessions. Jesus said, "blessed are you who are poor: for yours is the kingdom of God." What a blessing! You left all to follow Jesus. All your losses shall be abundantly made up to you for yours is the kingdom of God- all the comforts and graces of his kingdom here and all the glories and joys of his kingdom hereafter. When Jesus was here in this world he submitted to the disgraces and distresses of extreme poverty. He had not even a place to pillow his head- no home of his own. But did you know that compared to some countries in the world, you are very rich. Most well dressed people walk around with clothing on that is worth more than some people make in a whole year. Now, don't you feel blessed? Besides, when you have Jesus in your heart, guess what? You are rich! You Heavenly Father is the King of Kings and he will supply all of your needs. God may bless you with more than you need to get by intoday's world and if he does, you can be very grateful. But never mistake possessions for the abundant life that Jesus offers
