"I count it a blessing and privilege to have this opportunity to share a brief testimony with you on how God delivered me from sin and added me to His Church."

"I gave my heart to Jesus at a very young age. Although I was very active in church as a secretary, teacher and choir member, I still had a void in my life and eventually drifted back into sin. But, I am very thankful for an honest heart and for God’s love and faithfulness to me, because He didn’t forsake me. He followed after me and revealed to me that I needed more than just mere religion. I needed to be among people who love God and are taught the “truth” on how to live a life free from sin. I didn’t know what to do or where to go to get this freedom until I cried out to God and asked Him the following questions: “Why did you bring me into this world?” “What is the purpose of living?” “Please do not let me die in my sins and go to Hell.” In order to keep my testimony brief, I will only say that He provided me with the answers to my questions after I prayed a prayer of repentance."

"Later, I was blessed with two beautiful children. After having the second child, I had to return to work, so I asked God to give me a Christian daycare provider to take care of my children. God led me to a home where the mother was a Christian who attended the Church of God of Carmichael."

"In August 1982, I was invited to attend a revival at the Church of God of Carmichael where I surrendered my life completely to Jesus. He saved me, sanctified me, and delivered me from sin and false religion! My life hasn’t been the same since He took away my sins! He added me to His church where man doesn’t have the authority to add to God’s church. He added me to His church where the Saints live the life that is instructed in 1 Peter 1:16, Because it is written, be ye holy for I am holy.”

"He never told me that life would be a bed of roses. I still have trials, tribulations and questions, but I have learned through all of my difficult times to trust in Him and stand on His promises. One of my favorite promises is Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” God is an awesome God! 2 Peter 3:9 says,The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to usward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” As God is our helper, it is our determination at the Church of God of Carmichael, to spread God’s Word to as many souls as possible. We don’t want to see anyone perish but to come to a state of repentance."

"God loves you, and sent His Son to die on the cross so that your sins can be taken away. There is no greater love than this. If you don’t remember any of the promises mentioned above, please try to remember the promise in I Corinthians 2:9, But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love him.” Choose ye this day whom ye will serve!"

"May the Lord bless you and keep you!"

This Week's Memory Verse

What is Your Heart-House Like?

Everyone has a heart-house.  In order to make heaven our home, our heart-house must be clean and inhabited by Christ.  If you have allowed lying, anger, and bitterness to enter your heart, it is dirty.  If you have allowed bad habits like cursing, stealing, smoking, drinking, or drug-use to enter your life, your heart-house is not ready for heaven.

You must repent and ask Jesus to clean your heart-house, taking out everything that is unlike Him.  Only then will He come into your heart and He will help you keep it clean every day.  If you, through Christ, keep your heart clean, when He comes back or you die, you will be able to pass through the pearly gates into a joyous eternal life.

"Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place?  He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart;..."  Psalm 24:3-4
