The class expressed that there is a need today for people to grasp hold of what "faithfulness" really means.
An individual's motivation affects their relationship with God. If you don't do things with a heartfelt desire, you will not be motivated in the right way. We must be faithful in the things that God wants us to do. People don't understand that once a relationship has been broken, people must be contrite and sincere to start healing that relationship by asking for forgiveness - and they also must be willing to forgive in return. It takes time to build the trust back when someone has been hurt. It takes time to understand how to nurture and build up our "closeness" with God and to understand how to relate to him. A relationship is something you must work at to make it grow. There is a lot that has to go on for it to grow. The world tells people to ask God to forgive, but they don't work on the faithful life with him. They allow sin to continue stay in their life. That way is no foundation for starting a relationship with God. Additionally, we must exercise ourselves in our relationship with God. We must build that relationship. We must bring forth fruit to God. We constantly need to exercise and apply the things that God likes and do those things. In a true relationship, once you understand what someone likes, you try to please them. We need to keep our perspective. This life is short. In our relationship with God, we are working on something that will last longer than this life.
