Predictions of Christ's return have been going on for many years. Even today people are still trying to predict when the end of the world will happen. Many are being scared and worried about predictions others have come up with. Predictions in the past have proved incorrect. To date there is a new prediction.
December 21st marks the countdown to what ancient prophecies term "the end of time", which many interpret to mean the end of the world - or at least, the end of the world as we know it. While there is much speculation and predictions regarding the events that will actually transpire, the impending end of the Mayan Calendar is building a momentum among the masses similar to the dreaded anticipation that we witnessed as the world approached the milestone year 2000.

An untold number of people have tried to predict the Lord’s return from as far back as 44 BC to 2000 AC. All have failed to come true. The reason is because man is trying to predict or guess when the world will end. In Gods word he tells us:
"But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father." Mark 13:32
"Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh." Matthew 25:13
Not even Jesus, nor Gods angels knows when that time is, only God himself. Wouldn’t it seem right, for the creator of the universe to decide and know when He will end or destroy what he has created?
Instead of guessing when the end of the world will come, it is of most importance to know if you are ready to meet your creator.
"Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is." Mark 13:33
"Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man." Luke 21:36
"Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame." Revelation 16:15
Jesus warned us that We are to be watching- watching for the Lords return, not guessing when He will return. We need to know if our soul is ready. If you are still living in sin, then you are not ready to meet the Lord. God is not returning for people who have not repented of their sin and turned away from it. God is returning for His people who are living holy and serving Him with all their heart. Have you repented and turned away from sin? Are you watching, that you may be found unspotted by this world of sin?
"... know that it is near, even at the doors." Matthew 24:33
