"Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him,- and were filled with indignation, And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison. But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said, "Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life." And when they heard that, they entered in to the temple early in the morning, and taught... [22] But when the officers came and found them not in the prison, they returned, and told, Saying, "The prisoners truly found we shut with all safety, and the keepers standing without before the doors: but when we had opened, we found no man within"... [27] And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them, saying, "Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? And behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrin, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us." Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, "We ought to obey God rather than men"...[42] And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ. (Acts 5: 16)
We can have an influence on people by standing for what we know to be true. We cannot just go with the group thinking nor let the seemingly magnitude of the situation influence our stand. Numbers or multitudes cannot measure the truth but on the contrary truth will often stand against the majority opinion. When everything is seemingly going against us, we dont need to get discouraged. This is not our battle. We are just a vehicle of the LORD; Its not about what we are doing, it is about being a vehicle for God to work through.
There will be times when people are going to challenge you. You have to be willing to s tay "no" when your peers are trying to influence you in the wrong way. If we do not stand for what we know to be true, who will? Our influence counts. How important it is that we stand for what we know to be right. How we stand and the actions we take will influence others. Our actions should not fall in line with societies expectations, but rather in line with obedience to the Word of God.
There is a blessing that comes purely from just doing what is right!
