Oh, that we would examine ourselves- that we would be able look at ourselves as GOD himself looks at us.
Are our hands dirty? Have we let the earth soil our hands somehow? Have we been diligent to keeping our hands clean? If our hands are getting a little soiled from time to time we need to understand why that is the case.

Let us first examine our heart. What are our motives? Is it to somehow quench the desires of our flesh or to quench the desires of the master?

OH, that we would be brutally honest with ourselves.
Let us not get caught up concentrating on seeing if our hands are soiled, but let us rather focus on whether or not our hands are clean. “Oh God, are my hands clean?"

We might find ourselves saying, "No, my hands are not dirty".
The real question should be, "Are my hands are clean?"

No, we are not playing with words. Start asking God this question over and over and over and he will reveal the areas in your life where you need to become even cleaner. I am not saying that our hands are at all dirty but ask God to see those areas where they can be even cleaner.

"Do we have clean hands?" is not a question that we can ask quickly. It is a question that needs to go very deep. This is not a quick surface question that we can ask but a deeper question that needs to penetrate the heart.

If we spend much time asking, "Lord, are my hands clean?" Our faithful Father will show us where we need to skim off the extra dross. He will show us the areas where our reflection is reflecting us and not him.

Are our hands clean?
Are our hands clean?
Lord, are our hands clean?

This question will drive the most honest person to their knees. Yes, our hands may not be dirty; but the question is, are they clean?

"Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully." Psalms 24:3-4
