The Lord wants His word to be alive in us wherever we go. God's word must be precious to us and we must be feasting on it and discussing it regularly.

There are many people who don’t truly care nor have respect for God's word and the how it teaches us to live. Too often they have a cynical opinion about the way things are going in life and about the pure path instructed from the Bible.

"Your words have been stout against me, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, What have we spoken so much against thee? Ye have said, It is vain to serve God: and what profit is it that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts? And now we call the proud happy; yea, they that work wickedness are set up; yea, they that tempt God are even delivered."  Malachi 3: 13-15

A less than zealous conviction will only show to others that salvation is of little value and there is no profit in it. The fruit in your life will be weak at best. We live in what the Bible refers to as the "Laodicean age," in which people portray an attitude of feeling "rich and increased with goods," ... but they are not rich in the ways of the  Lord. The ones spoken of in the above scriptures did not seek to recognize the value in serving God. They were blinded or asleep by unbelief

"Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not."
  Malachi 3:16-18

These people didn’t have the same attitude as those in the previous scriptures. They had a desire alive in their heart to truly worship God that was conveyed one to another. The Lord wants us to be really dedicated to the work of God. He wants His work to be a very valuable thing to us. The Lord took notice of these people’s heart attitude and he promised to remember them and spare them. God made a record of it.

Where is the value of God placed in your everyday living, conversation and activities?  Is God and His word the most valuable priority in all that you do?

Are you asleep to His directions or are you truly alive and awake in faith?
