A mother's observations and advice... "Yea also, when he that is a fool walketh by the way his wisdom (good sense) faileth him, and he saith to every one that he is a fool". (Eccl. 10:3)
Our actions will determine who we are and what we will become...
A fool in the Websters Dictionary says, "its a person lacking judgment". "Foolish/silly (helpless or weak)"
"...The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself. The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness: an the end of his talk is mischievous madness... ...A fool is also full of words:.. ...The labour of the foolish wearieth everyone one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city." (Eccl. 10:11-15)
You see alot of this in how young people act at school. They act very foolish. Foolishness is almost like an "in" thing today. It's accepted as the cool thing, and yet God see's it differently. Teacher's grow weary of it. The punishments in school for this are not very effective, and the problems continue to grow.
"Forsake (to turn away from entirely) the foolish and live; and go in the way of understanding." (Prov. 9:6) Sometimes this may seem hard for people to do, but looking to God for help and having the right desire in the heart makes this possible. The foolish may be your close friends, the people you want to hang around with, but who you choose to hang around will determine how foolish you become.
Sometimes we may not want to see ourselves as being influenced by foolish friends, but our choice of freinds is a direct reflection upon us! We may not see it, but if we look into God's Word he will show us, because his Word is described as a mirror that shows us how we really are. But the good part is that he also shows us how He wants us to be and how we will prosper if we will follow and act according to his way.
