"For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies. Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread. But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing." (2 Thess 3:10-13)
When we read the scriptures, we need to make sure we don’t pull them out of context. In reading these verses, we realize that they were being counseled to be busy about the things of God and their own responsibilities. We need to recognize things we shouldn’t be involved in. If we are busy about the wrong things, it will cause a heavier load on others. If we are distracted from taking our place in holding up the burden and helping with the work of God, someone else will have to pick up the slack, and the Church will feel an unnecessary burden. An undisciplined life will cause weariness for you and others. For example; if you become overloaded financially, you will have that burden of additional concern of debt, so much that you will become weary, and aren’t as able to help others. Everything needs to be..."done decently and in order." (ICor 14:40) We all know kids as they grow up, will do things without realizing the impact they have on others. If we are going along and not considering those around us, we also will have an impact; possibly a negative one. We are living in a very selfish world, so we need to be careful we don't get wrapped up in the same spirit to the neglect of God's work. Weariness on the body as a whole can become very evident. You can get worn out. When someone comes along and asks if they can help, it can really help lift some of the load. Over time if we are not careful, we can become used to someone else taking care of something, and it is easy to neglect our responsibilities of help.
