Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Phillipians 4:6-
We must take time to commune with Jesus, the Prince of Peace. If, throughout your day, you don’t have time to talk to God, you are too busy. You will be robbed of your peace. If you are too busy to come to church, your priorities are mixed up. If we don’t keep his commandments he will not stay around where he is not wanted. A true relationship with Christ is a heart experience where we love God with all of our heart.
To "be careful for nothing" means to not fret or worry about anything. We must learn to do that. Before salvation, people are trained to worry and rely on themselves. If we worry, doubt, or fear, we are not putting our trust in God. If we do everything by prayer, the peace of God will keep us. God’s peace is right there and your heart is not troubled. In the Greek bible, the work “keep” is guard. It is like a sentinel. God does not want our heart to be disturbed. You have a choice in whether you let your heart be troubled. How can you keep your heart not being troubled? If you give what is troubling you to God, your heart will not be troubled.
Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all. 2 Thessalonians 3:16
How long does God want us to have peace? Everywhere and in all places regardless of the situation. God is concerned about us. If you don’t have peace, there will be a lot of issues coming up in your life that God does not want. The nature of peace is a restful mind. The enemy tries to bring worry and trouble. The nature of peace is a surrendered will. If you are trying to do your own thing, you will not have peace. The nature of peace is a hopeful heart and loving fellowship. There’s nothing between us and God.
