The goal of the 2-4 year old class is to create an enjoyable environment for the children to learn about the stories of the Bible and the lessons that teach good character. Our desire is that these lessons will encourage in each child a desire to love and obey God and His Word.
We send a memory verse home monthly which we hope the children will try to learn if they are able. Although they are too young to really remember these verses long-term, we are attempting to help them learn the habit of memorizing the Bible. Hopefully, as the children mature, these memorized verses will help to guide them as they walk the path of their lives.
Each week we bring a story either from the Bible or one that teaches good character. After the lesson we generally designate a short time for coloring, craft-making, or completing puzzles.
ABOUT THE TEACHERS
Approximately 21 years ago, Linda Weekley began helping a teacher in a Sunday School class of young children. She commenced teaching a class of 4-5 year olds shortly thereafter and has taught in the younger children's Bible classes ever since that time. She enjoys working with children and has been caring for them through her daycare business for more than 28 years.
When she was a young teenager, God convicted her heart of the sin that was present and she gave her life to God. From this time on, she has been his faithful servant and she enjoys teaching the Bible Story Time children about God's love and His way.
Glenda Gallagher was 10 years old when God helped her realize that she needed to give her heart to Him. Through his grace and power she has lived a sin-free, holy life since that day. She began teaching the 4-6 year old class at Bible Story Time when she was in her early twenties. She continued teaching until the birth of her 4th child, at which time she decided to take a break in order to keep up with her family.
When her children grew older, she commenced helping in the class of 2-4 year olds. After a few years she began to teach in this same class. She really enjoys working with the younger children and attempts to bring the lessons and stories to life using puppets and props that will stimulate the children's interest and enjoyment as well as their memory of what has been taught.
